Red Head Pin
The ninth menu in the Scoring section is the Red Head Pin menu. The red head pin game, was originally a contest, where a pin painted red was inserted into the pinsetter. When this pin, randomly appeared in the head pin position, the bowler up to bowl could win a prize, if they bowled a strike. This game variation was popular before automatic scoring. It required one additional pin, painted red for each lane, that had to be added to the lanes to play the game and removed from the lanes when the game was over. These pins then needed to be stored. So, this virtual version of the game displays a red pin on the scoresheet in a random position. When it appears in the head pin position then a message will be displayed. The Red Head Pin menu contains the following settings:
The Chances button, is used to select how many Red Head Pin frames will occur for each player. Click here to open the menu, and the following will be displayed:
Select the desired number of Red Head Pin Frames for each player. The selected number of frames will occur randomly throughout the game for each player.
In this example, 3 Red Head Pin frames was selected. This means that every player will get three Red Head Pin Frames, randomly throughout the game.
The Chance Message field, is used to enter the text of the message that will be displayed on the Sync scoring overhead monitor, in a Red Head Pin frame. The content of this message is determined by whatever promotion the facility may be running.
The message: “Bowl a STRIKE to win a prize” has been entered.
The Win Message field, is used to enter the text of the message that will be displayed on the Sync scoring overhead monitor, when a bowler scores a strike in a red head pin frame.
The message: “Contact reception to claim your prize!” was entered.
