Loyalty Program Sync Desk - Operations
This section covers the operations regarding the use of the Loyalty Program in Sync Desk.
Earning Loyalty Points
Your guests can earn loyalty points when making purchases at any Sync POS terminal, Mobile Point-of-Sale (MPOS) tablet, or Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) using their email address or OpenLane member code.
Sync Desk - POS Terminal
If configured in Sync Office (see the previous POS Policies section), an employee will be prompted to enter a guest's email address or scan their OpenLane member code after starting the payment process.
Scanning a member code does require a QR / Barcode scanner which is an optional piece of equipment for POS terminals.

Open
Sync Desk and log in.
- Add one or more items to the transaction.

Click Pay Now.
The Member Entry pop-up will display.
If the customer is NOT a member, you can type in their email address, then click Sign Up New Member.
Alternatively, if the policy is disabled or if you have clicked Skip Member Entry, you can scan their QR code in the Apply Payment screen or click the Envelope to re-open the Member Entry pop-up.
During this process, the employee can also opt the customer in for marketing emails and exclusive offers - an activity that earns additional loyalty points.
Once the customer's account is linked to the transaction, they will earn loyalty points for any eligible product(s) purchased.
MobileWaitstation - Mobile Point-of-Sale
Similarly to Sync Desk, the MPOS tablet will prompt to enter a guest's email address or scan their OpenLane Member Code.

Open
MobileWaitstation and log in.
- Add one or more items to the transaction.

Tap Pay Now.
The Member Entry pop-up will display.
Alternatively, you can scan their QR code in the Apply Payment screen or click the Envelope to re-open the Member Lookup pop-up.
Sync Self-Service Kiosk
Your guest may attach their loyalty account to their transaction at any time that the Self-Serve Kiosk displays the "Already have the app?" message at the bottom of the screen.
All SSKs have the QR/Barcode Scanner pre-installed.
The Self-Service Kiosk does not allow you to link a member/OpenLane account
Redeeming Loyalty Points
Your guests can redeem their loyalty points when making purchases at any Sync POS terminal, Mobile Point-of-Sale (MPOS) tablet, or Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) using their email address or OpenLane member code.
Sync does not currently allow you to prohibit the redemption of loyalty points for certain products. This would need to be handled as a center-level policy.
For Self-Serve Kiosks, you would need to configure your menu(s) to not offer these products or disable loyalty payments in the Service Kiosk Configuration (Office > Admin > Service Kiosks).
Sync Desk - POS Terminal
Once the customer's account has been linked to the open transaction:

In the Apply Payment screen, click Pay with Loyalty Points.
If this button is not displayed on your screen, you may need to set up a Cash Payment Method.

In the Pay With Loyalty Points window, click Apply Maximum Points OR the amount of points to be redeemed on the transaction.
If there is any remaining balance on the transaction, you will need to use an additional payment method to close out the transaction.
MobileWaitstation - Mobile Point-of-Sale
Once the customer's account has been linked to the open transaction:

In the Apply Payment screen, click Pay with Loyalty Points.
If this button is not display on your screen, you may need to set up a Cash Payment Method or allow the loyalty payment method to be Available on MPOS.

In the Pay With Loyalty Points window, tap Apply Maximum Points OR the amount of points to be redeemed on the transaction.
If there is any remaining balance on the transaction, you will need to use an additional payment method to close out the transaction.
Sync Self-Service Kiosk
If the Self-Service Kiosks are configured to Allow Loyalty Payments (Office > Admin > Service Kiosks > Policies), then an OpenLane payment method should be available at the Select Payment Type screen.
