SYNC Desk - Issuing Lite League
The Lite League button, is used to issue lanes in competition mode, either for league or tournament play, without data from an external league or tournament recordkeeping program. Competitions issued in this manner require the team and player data to be manually entered.
Issuing Lite League
Select the desired lane range. At least one natural lane pair must be selected.
In this example, lanes 1-8 have been selected.
Select the More menu button.
Select the Lite League button, and the following will be displayed:
Select the desired Lite League from the list on the left. The Refresh button is used to reload the list of available lite leagues. The Cancel button exits the Lite League Issue process. Once a lite league has been selected, the following will be displayed:
Note: In order for a league to be on this list, a lite league product must first be created in the Sync Office application on the Sales page using the Products menu item.
The “3 Game Lite League” was selected. The Details window to the right displays some information about the league that was selected, and the “Lanes” button is now illuminated. Click here to move on to the next step of the Lite League process, and the following will be displayed:
Click here to select the number of players per lane, and the following will be displayed:
Select the desired number of players per lane from the list and then press the Close button. Use the more button to manually enter the number of players, or press clear to enter zero.
In this example, four players per lane was selected.
The Name Styles drop down menu is used to select the format of the names. Click here to open the drop down menu and the following will be displayed:
Select the desired name format from the list. The following options are available:
Default, which means the names Player 1, Player 2, Player 3 and so on will be used for all lanes.
ABC123, which means the left lane of a pair will use the names A, B, C, D, and the right lane of the pair will use the names 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Text File, which means the names will be taken from a text file. When this option is selected, the Windows File Explorer window will immediately be displayed. Navigate to the desired file location and select the file, then click on the Open button to link the text file to this issuance of the lite league, or press the Cancel button to exit without linking a text file. A text file of names can be created using the Windows Notepad program, found on the Windows Accessories menu of the Windows Start menu.
The list of names will be divided into teams/lanes based on the quantity of players selected in the previous step.
R File, which is the export file created by an external League or tournament recordkeeping program, such as CDE BLS, CDE BTM or Lexer BW2. When this option is selected, the following will be displayed:
Select the file type drop down to toggle between League and Tournament R files, then click on the Today tab to see R files for today’s date or click on the All tab to see R files for any date. Select the desired R file by clicking on it and then click on the OK button to link the selected R file to this lite league issuance, or press the Cancel button to exit without linking the R file to this lite league issuance.
