Brunswick Cloud OpenLane Information and Configuration

OpenLane is a mobile app that allows your customers to easily access various features at your center. Through the app, your guests can track their bowling statistics, manage their coupons, and view their loyalty rewards.

The OpenLane feature is included in the Crown Advantage Platinum subscription.

The OpenLane app is available in the Google Play and Apple App stores. If you do not see the app in your region, please email Brunswick at apps@brunswickbowling.com.

OpenLane

Join A Game: OpenLane

The OpenLane App allows guests to easily track their scores and bowling statistics by using the app to join a game at the center. If the user is bowling open play, they should use the following steps to join a game. (League bowler information should be exported from the league file. You can find more details in the League Scores: Sync Office Configuration section of this document.)

1. Click Connect Phone

2. In the app, click Join a Game to take a photo of the QR code or enter the six-character code displayed on the console.

3. In the app, click Edit under the intended player name

4. In the app, check This Is Me, add a NAME, edit the player photo, and click Save.

5. The console will update the bowler information shortly.

My Scores: OpenLane

Bowlers can view their scores by clicking My Scores in the app home screen.

The My Scores page will display the bowlers most recent score, total number of games, and total pins at the top of the page.

The My Scores page will also display the three most recent bowling sessions. The user can remove a specific session from overall statistics by clicking the eyeball symbol in the upper right hand corner of the session tile.

Clicking My Games will show additional bowling sessions. The selection of sessions being displayed can be filtered by dates, location, tags, play type, and game type using the filter button found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Clicking on the individual bowling session tile will reveal the scoresheets for that session. From the scoresheets page, the user can remove ball speed and choose to view their scores only by toggling the sliders at the top of the page. Users can omit individual game scores from their overall statistics by clicking the eyeball symbol next to the game number. Users can add tags to games by clicking + Add Tag. These tags will populate under the previously mentioned filter section. Using this feature, bowlers can group games by league name, ball type, or any other distinction they wish.

Clicking the magnifying glass symbol next to the bowler's name will open a frame-by-frame view of the game.

Clicking Share This Score allows the user to share customizable statistics of the game to their social media accounts. Statistics include the score, strike percentage, and spare percentage. Users can also upload a photo from their camera roll and add stickers to the post.

Pro Metrics: OpenLane

From the My Scores screen, users can click Pro Metrics! to access additional statistics. The user will need to activate their pro metrics section by clicking "Go Pro!" in the screen pictured below.

Once the Pro Metrics section has been activated for a user, the user can find the section at the top of their My Scores page, as pictured in the below screenshot.

From the top of the Pro Metrics page, users can see their current average score and snap shot of their bowling progress over the last 10 sessions bowled.

Pro Metrics statistics can be filtered by dates, location, tags, play type, and game type using the filter button found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Stats will show average pins, average 1st ball, total pins, strike conversions, spare conversions, leave head pin, leave 7 pin, leave 10 pin, and opens.

Leaves will show number of times that a specific spare configuration was left after the 1st ball and how many times that spare configuration was picked up.

Trends will show trends over time (displayed in months). The trends shown will be number of games, average pins, ball 1 speed, ball 1 pins, strike conversion percentage, spare conversion percentage, 7 pin pickup percentage, 7 pin leave percentage, 10 pin pickup percentage, and 10 pin leave percentage.

Standard Statistics: OpenLane

If a user decides to not go pro, they will still have access to some basic statistics under the "Nice Score!" section of the app.

The non pro statistics include game count, total pins, and high score for the last year. Scrolling down the statistics page will reveal the user's strike and spare percentage for their last match, as well as a list of their games.

Leaderboards: OpenLane

If a user bowls well enough, they can earn a spot on one of your center's leaderboards. The leaderboards are divided into three game types (Ten Pin, Angry Birds, and Short Game). Those three game types are divided into two boards (weekly and monthly). The game must have a maximum of 2 score corrects to be eligible for the leaderboard. Centers can determine a minimum score and a maximum number of bowlers for each leaderboard in the leaderboard section of their Brunswick Cloud account. Leaderboard configuration details can be found in the Leaderboards: Cloud Configuration section of this document.

My Rewards: OpenLane

The loyalty program is a built-in reward system that allows your guests to earn points by making purchases and completing specified activities. The guest can then spend those points on products sold through the Sync point of sale by having their Member Code scanned at time of purchase. The Member Code can be found in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

The users current Reward Points total is displayed at the top of the My Rewards page.

Sync coupons are QR codes that can be scanned at a Sync terminal to redeem discounts on specified products. Coupons can be distributed in three ways:

  1. Sent in a Brunswick Cloud Email
  2. Attached to a Member Activity
  3. Posted directly to the OpenLane App for purchase with Reward Points

Reward Offers displays offers that have been posted to the OpenLane app for purchase using Reward Points.

Clicking the offer will open additional details about the offer and allow the user to purchase the offer.

If the user does not have enough points to purchase the offer, the Purchase Offer button will not appear.

My Rewards will display all coupons that are already owned by the user whether they were purchased in the app, sent in an email, or earned by completing an activity.

Clicking the coupon will display the coupon's QR code, fine print, and expiration date.

Waitlist: OpenLane

Users can use the OpenLane App to join any of your Sync Waitlists.

Specials: OpenLane

Centers can schedule in-app advertisements known as "specials". The specials section supports embedded html text links, offering a great opportunity to promote your website, online reservations, and online food ordering. Sync Office Configuration

Join A Game: Sync Office Configuration

Open play bowlers can log their scores in the OpenLane app by joining a game at the lane console. This feature must be enabled in the center's experience settings. You can enable the feature by...

  1. Logging into Sync Office and navigating to Lanes > Experience Settings.
  2. Once there, pictured below, double click the Experience Setting title that you wish to edit.

    2. Tip: Do not enable phone app features for League based Experience Settings. Your league software will be used to export email addresses out to the lanes for league bowlers to receive their scores.
  3. Scroll down to Bowler Choices and click Bowler Options.
  4. Check the bubble titled "Enable phone app features".

League Scores: Sync Office Configuration

If you are using BLS or LeaguePals to export your league files, it is advised to disable phone app features during league play. Instead, the league secretary can input the bowlers' email addresses to be exported out the league lanes when the league is hosted. This will function as if the bowlers enter the email address in the console themselves, but will prevent them from being able to edit their names, since editing name can cause discrepancies between the name entered at the console and the name on file in your league program. Disabling the phone app features and exporting the bowlers' email addresses allows your league bowlers to receive their scores via email and inside of the OpenLane app without any extra work on the bowler's part.   1. Logging into Sync Office and navigating to Lanes > Experience Settings.
  2. Once there, pictured below, double click on your league play Experience Setting.

Leaderboards: Brunswick Cloud Configuration

Leaderboards are configured in the center's Brunswick Cloud account under Centers > Leaderboards.

The leaderboards are split into six categories.

  1. Ten Pin - Monthly
  2. Ten Pin - Weekly
  3. Short Game - Monthly
  4. Short Game - Weekly
  5. Angry Birds - Monthly
  6. Angry Birds - Weekly

Clicking the pencil icon will open an editing page for that leaderboard. On this page, you can define the name of the leaderboard, the minimum score required to be listed on the leaderboard, and the maximum number of scores that can be displayed on the leaderboard.

Digital Signs can also be used to display your center's leaderboards physically inside of the center.

My Rewards: Brunswick Cloud Configuration

Loyalty Program

Loyalty Program values can be edited by logging into your Brunswick Cloud and navigating to Account > Loyalty Program. Once here, pictured below, you can determine a cash back percentage, minimum redemption amount and activity points for each activity type.

Coupons/Offers

Offers can be built in your Brunswick Cloud account under the Offers page. Offers can be created for products and packages. Clicking Create a New Offer will begin the offer building process.

During the Offer Distribution step of offer building, you can choose to attach the offer to a specific Member Activity or post the offer directly to the OpenLane app for purchase with Reward Points.

If you have chosen to attach the offer to a Member Activity or post for purchase using Reward Points, you will also need to design the coupon when you arrive at the Coupon Design page. On this page, pictured below, you will decide the headline text, details text, and the coupon image. You can also choose to have an email auto generate when the coupon is earned or purchased by checking the box next to the text that says "Generate an Email When Coupon is Earned".

Waitlist: Brunswick Cloud Configuration

You can edit your waitlist settings by logging into your Brunswick Cloud Account and navigating to Centers > Waitlists.

Name: Determines the waitlist name that appears in the OpenLane app.

Resource Type: The resource type is determined by your Sync server.

App Guest Per Resource: Determines how many resources will be designated according to the number of players entered by the guest.

Wait (minutes): Determines the number of minutes that will be estimated for each party already on the list. This helps estimate the wait time for the party currently joining the wait list. (Wait Minutes x Number of Parties = Estimated Wait Time)

Distance (meters): The maximum distance that a guest can be from the center and still join the waitlist.

Guest Access: This must be toggled to "Center or Guest" to use the OpenLane app Waitlist feature.

Waitlist Joined Message: The notification message that a guest receives when they are added to the waitlist.

Waitlist Hosted Message: The notification message that a guest receives when the guest is notified that their lane is available from the Sync Waitlist.

Make sure to click "Save Changes" before leaving this page.

Specials: Brunswick Cloud Configuration

Access the OpenLane Specials Channel inside of any Campaign by logging to into your Brunswick Cloud Account and navigating to the Campaigns page.

Open a Campaign by clicking on the name of the Campaign and navigating to OpenLane App > OpenLane Special. To edit an existing Special, click on the template displayed on the right hand side of the screen. To create a new Special, click "+New App Specials".

From here, pictured below, edit the image, headline text, and supplementary text by clicking on that field in the Special preview.

This information is pulled from your Brunswick Cloud Account. The address, phone number, and hours of operation can be edited by navigating to Centers > Center Information.

Marketing Emails

Only Opt-In Members can receive Marketing Emails from your Brunswick Cloud Account.

Access the Marketing Email Channel inside of any Campaign by logging to into your Brunswick Cloud Account and navigating to the Campaigns page.

Open a Campaign by clicking on the name of the Campaign and navigating to Advertising and Marketing > Marketing Email. To edit an existing Marketing Email, click on the template displayed on the right hand side of the screen. To create a new Special, click "+New Marketing Email".
